The simple two-step approach to preserving brain health into your 90s!

You’ll never see mainstream medicine talk about how easy it can be to improve your brain health and reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer’s. (After all, it would drastically hurt Big Pharma’s bottom line…)

But you should know that this brain-protecting strategy doesn’t cost a penny. And you don’t need special equipment or an expensive prescription. Heck, you don’t even have to get out of your chair!

New evidence confirms that we can easily promote neurogenesis, which is the creation of fresh brain cells (called neurons) that transmit nerve impulses within your brain.

Best of all, you don’t have to start doing this when you’re young, because as the latest research shows, we’re capable of neurogenesis even past the age of 90!

Two steps to a better brain

Last year, a surprising study concluded that almost no neurogenesis takes place after late childhood. This was met with a lot of skepticism within the research community, as it contradicted nearly 20 years of research showing that the brain can indeed generate new neurons, specifically in the hippocampus — the area of the brain where memories are formed.

After this kerfuffle of controversy died down, a team from Spain’s Universidad Autónoma de Madrid recently delivered a new report reaffirming that adult brains can generate new neurons — and that even goes for brains of people 90 years and older.

In their examination of brains preserved after death, the Madrid team also found considerably less evidence of neurogenesis in younger individuals who had Alzheimer’s, while healthy older brains had double the amount of fresh neurons.

As reported in STAT News, this might solve the mystery of older people whose brains are full of beta amyloid tangles, but show no signs of dementia. Researchers believe that inflammation — which appears to kill neurons — will prove to be one of the primary culprits behind Alzheimer’s.

So preserving brain health calls for a simple two-step approach:

  • Step one: Prevent inflammation
  • Step two: Promote neurogenesis

For the first step, we know that regular exercise, and low intake of foods with processed carbs and added sugars are excellent ways to reduce inflammation. (And a few key supplements can help as well.)

And exercise performs “double duty” here because daily exercise is also linked with greater neurogenesis.

New connections for new brain cells

Another highly effective neurogenesis method can be found in Jim Donovan’s Sound Mind Protocol.

Jim cites research in the Journal of Natural Science, Biology, and Medicine, that shows an increase in neurogenesis in the hippocampus in response to two interventions: Exercise and vagal nerve stimulation.

The vagus is like a superhighway nerve that runs from your brain stem, down and throughout your body, connecting with all your major organs.

Based on his research, Jim has developed Neurogenic Activation Exercises — enjoyable sound-based techniques that harness natural vagal nerve stimulation that can help you:

  • Improve your memory
  • Promote neurogenesis in your brain
  • Protect you from neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s
  • Sharpen your cognition

“Additionally,” Jim says, “these potent exercises provide a wide range of health benefits, including anxiety reduction, mental clarity, and mood enhancement — all without pills.”

Protection against neurodegeneration

Vagal nerve stimulation produces another valuable brain-enhancing benefit by boosting levels of a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).

Jim notes two key benefits of BDNF:

  • It helps repair brain tissue and regeneration
  • It nourishes brain cells and promotes their survival

Jim’s Neurogenesis Activation Exercises are designed to give you simple, natural methods to combine the brain building benefits of BDNF and neurogenesis — all from the comfort of your home, no matter what your age.

“During each exercise,” Jim says, “you’ll use your mind and body to develop and strengthen these connections that help to sharpen your mind. You’ll also protect yourself against neurodegeneration that can come from not challenging your brain.”

Anyone can do Neurogenesis Activation Exercises — you don’t need any special abilities or skills to gain the benefits — just the sound of your voice. And once you learn these innovative techniques, you’ll know how to put them to use every day for the rest of your life.
